Printed film BOPP//VMCPP for bread packaging

BOPP//VMCPP lamination film is widely used for food packaging, such as bread, biscuits, candy etc. It is quite economical, this is why it is so widely applied in food packaging industries. Reverse printing on the BOPP film, it can well show the food manufacturer’s info and intension on his products and well promoting effects. With a thin layer of aluminum layer, moisture, air, and sunlight are well barried, which is absolutely essential for food protection and storage.

For CPP film, it bears aluminum layer on one side and the other side acting as heat sealing layer. CPP film is good at heat sealing that well prevent the bag from breakage and the inside content from leaking.

The item is BOPP28//VMCPP30, with structure as below

For BOPP Film, 28 microns is most common used item in lamination packaging.

For ink, we can provide normal temperature ink or high temperature ink, this is all up to customer application.

As to aluminum layer, we can achieve 100A-1000A, this is enough for barrier performance in lamination packaging.

30 microns CPP film is common used item, that helps to lower the cost.

 

1) Process of printing film

 

CPP Metallized

Metallized film is a kind of particular plastic film that is achieved by plating a very thin aluminum layer onto the surface of plastic film through special craftsmanship. In this meaning, metalized film is a flexible lamination packaging material. With some functions combined together, such as high barrier performance, clean, brightness, economic, and environment friendly, metalized films are widely used. In lamination packaging and printing, metallized PET film and metallized CPP film are mostly used. CPP acts as an aluminum bearing layer and inner heat sealing layer in this application.

 

For plastic film printing, usually reverse printing is applied. As plastic film is mostly transparent, so white background ink is absolutely essential. The usual sequence of color applied in reverse printing shall be

 

Lamination process is to combine two kinds of film together to create multifunctions that one film can not reach. For lamination, glue is very important to achieve certain peel strength.

Slitting process

Lamination film then be slitted into customer required width for auto packaging line.

2) Some points when customer adapt BOPP//VMCPP lamination film

① Heat sealing temperature on auto packaging machine

As BOPP film and CPP film are both made from PP granules, the thermoforming temperature of BOPP film and the heat sealing temperature of CPP film are mostly close, this may cause some kind of heat sealing problems on auto packaging machine.

During heat transfer, BOPP film has to bear high temperature for some time, so the thickness of BOPP film shall not be much thinner than CPP film, this is for heat sealing concern.

The heat sealing temperature has to be exactly decided with heat sealing strength and packaging speed. Usually, it is better to apply low temperature sealing CPP film.

② winter concern

For some areas that are very cold in winter, the BOPP//VMCPP lamination film will perform worse as the brittleness of CPP film increases as the temperature lowers. CPP film is seldom used in temperature 20-30 celsius degree under zero. The breakage rate of the bag will accordingly increases.

③ Not good presentation effects

Both BOPP film and CPP film are of low stiffness, that cause they will not well present itself when placed on goods shelf. To achieve good presentation effects, PET film, aluminum foil or paper are recommended.
